Okay, I have one more creation to share today. Lots of crafters tell me that they are always searching for card ideas for men. Well, I have a son, husband, dad and father-in-law, and four nephews to practice on. Here is my latest endeavor for a male birthday card. I also am going to pop on over to Mojo Monday and enter it into Mojo 232 as I have followed their sketch as a jump off point.
I have taken 'liquid glass' and put this onto to brown card stock in shapes that resembled leather. This 'belt' was used to divide the card in the middle. This is a time consuming creation but I just love how it looks masculine and vintage at the same time.
For the top panel I used a stamp set from Close to My Heart called 'Key Elements'. The clock symbol was stamped and then I cut out clear acrylic to function as the watch face.
The bottom panel is dry embossed gears with silver and gold ink swiped along the top.
I then clustered some metal flowers and brads from Tim Holtz and Bo Bunny 'Etc.' and stamped 'happy' and 'birthday' on the cork 'H' and 'B'. All in all, I think my husband wouldn't be too embarrassed to display this card on his desk at his office - we shall see . . . .
Take care all you creators in blog land. See you soon.
