Shabby Tea Room #97 - Gorgeous Gateaux

Good Morning Crafters! This morning I am attempting to link this card to one of my favorite blogs “The Shabby Tea Room”. Each week they have this great contest with both a photo and colors for card creating inspiration! As such a blogging beginner I can not tell you how tricky this seemingly simple task has turned into. First, I made a card and trust me when i say this was the easiest part.

Second, I tried to learn how to take a better picture, on some ‘macro’ setting, with and without a flash, zoomed in and out, standing on a chair, from all angles. I swear I took about a hundred shots. Okay, I’ll admit I am way too particular. Third, get the pictures into Photoshop to crop and zoom and all that good stuff. Fourth, try for just my second time to compose a blog entry with photos. I am starting to feel not technologically advanced enough for this. Finally, I have to try to figure out how to ‘link’ a picture to another blog.

Success! I think. Hmm, and I have only been at this for two hours. Surely, I won’t take this long every time?
My card is certainly inspired by the colors and photo at the Shabby Tea Room, but I really wanted an Asian feel. I just loved this collection of papers called ‘The Far East’ and the colors seemed just perfect.
I stamped with grey and then used silver embossing powder to bring out the shine!
The flowers and the lace fan were made from vellum and colored with markers. I also added a bit of silver marker.
I hope you like it. It has been a real adventure and I have had a lot of fun creating this card.
